Dos Rios and Ainsa
Ainsa village is currently one of the top spots of the Aragonese Pyrenees and is considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in Spain.
Ainsa is nestled between the Ara and Cinca valleys in the foothills of the Pyrenees at 592 mts above sea level. It’s surrounded by the natural parks of Ordesa and Monte Perdido(National Park), the Bujaruelo valley, the Posets Maladeta Natural park and the Guara Sierra and Canyons Natural park. This makes Ainsa the perfect place to base your Pyrenean adventures.
ORDESA AND MONTE PERDIDO NATIONAL PARK
Monte Perdido(3355mts) borders with France and is the Pyrenees third highest mountain. It’s surrounded by a group of peaks at around 3000 mts altitude.
This protected area along with its mountain comprises four valleys : The Ordesa valley and River Arazas, the Añisclo Canion and River Bellos, the Escuain gorge and River Yaga and the Pineta valley circus at the top of which starts the River Cinca.
- THE GUARA NATURAL PARK AND SIERRA DE GUARA
For keen hikers the Sobrarbe is a veritable treasure chest of routes and landscapes. Amongst the dramatically formed peaks of this mountain range sit the Pyrenees highest summits, its deepest valleys and its last glaciers.
Thanks to its spectacular geology, it’s the perfect place for canyoning and climbing. Take the challenge of the Canyons of Mascún, Alcanadre and Balced, with their 20kms of river and an 800mt drop, making them some of the best in Spain. - POSETS MALADETA PARK
With Aneto at its centre, this is the largest collection of peaks over 3000 mts in the Pyrenees and it has been declared a Natural protected area.
It also has the greatest number of glaciers in the area These are “not to be missed”excursions : The Basa de la Mora lake, Punta suelza and the Barns of Viados. - ADVENTURE SPORTS
